This month, the Peregrine Space team spent their time grinding away on technical work and meeting with vendors, customers, and potential investors. This month was spent primarily in the office, building product and making connections, with less time at events than last month. Although, we did get out to a great Solver Social event in El Segundo, and even a weekend camping trip for two of our co-founders.
April saw some great opportunities for us. Our multipurpose payloads have gained the interest of some defense primes, other small businesses, and plenty of eyes in between. Peregrine Space is in talks with these customers (and potential customers) who are interested in using our hardware in exciting and disparate use cases.
Additionally, Alyas, our Software Intern, is nearing the end of his internship. Tyler and Ian are looking forward to attending Alyas's end-of-program presentation at UCI in the first week of June. His great work is being handed off to our expert Software Team members, who have joined Peregrine Space in the past few weeks.
The versatility of our hardware has really shined this month: from unique use-cases coming in customer requests, to unique use-cases in proposals we are submitting for Small Business Innovation Research programs (SBIRs). The modularity of our systems and the flexibility of our hardware has meant our product can be used all over the place.
The Peregrine Space team is growing! In May, we welcomed two software experts onto the team. We are all very happy to be working together and the new members of the team have voiced great excitement for the work to come! Stay tuned for formal announcemnts.
Our team is anticipating a great time at the Space Tech Expo in Anaheim, CA in the first week of June. Peregrine Space will be walking the floor and has a full day of B2B meetings planned, as well. Next will be Peregrine Space presenting (with a corporate partner) at the Poster Session of Small Satellite Conference in Utah in August. We hope to see you in Anaheim and are looking forward to Utah, too!
This Memorial Day weekend, co-founders Tyler and Ian took a road trip/camping trip with some friends. Tyler got to experience Zion National Park for the first time and Tyler and Ian both finally got to see Grand Teton National Park! They also got to see a moose, a beaver, a black bear, some beautiful mountains, and have some surprisingly great food along the way! All the while, Peregrine Space's Starlink kept us on top of company emails and a few work calls from the road.
"It's easy to lose sight of the world around you when you're deep in product design, or in a windowless optics lab. Getting out and seeing the world (and a National Park or two) is a great way to remember the problems you're solving, and to keep motivated through it all."
